When I was a child, I grew up in awe of doctors who cared for us after a family member was diagnosed with cancer, and I went into medical school with a passion to be just as empathetic and compassionate as the doctors I depended on so much.
Medical training was a whole new ballgame, though, and residency was even more brutal. Seeing so much disease, loss and death made it difficult for me to get close to patients because I became too emotionally attached. I would fall apart when they became terminally ill or when I was the one who saw my own chest compressions fail and a life escape right under my hands. I became intentionally closed off to shelter myself from the pain of what I went through during my eight years of medical training, and the new me felt foreign and missed human connection.

helping women thrive
Now, my entire passion as a doctor is to create this environment with both my in-office patients and viewers online. Outreach to communities, individuals and anyone who needs to hear positivity and encouragement is where I find my meaning in medicine.
As I began my new practice, I saw how opening myself up again and talking to patients as friends, learning their
hobbies, meeting their families and giving a simple but genuine hug turned everything around and we began having breakthroughs and triumphs in their personal health journeys. This personal and open-hearted approach helped me get back into the kind of medicine I fell in love with as a child.

helping women thrive
I hope to show others how we can create health care education that relates to them personally and in a way that is memorable and enjoyable, and I love appearing on television and other media outlets to be a positive physician presence in a time that is in such need of uplifting and encouraging messages. I love supporting women who are outspoken leaders and passionate about making a difference in their communities, because when we see other fearless females as our inspiration and our motivators, I believe we create an environment of empowered and limitless possibilities.

"You don't have to be tidier, thinner, funnier or smarter.
You don't have to be more assertive, more ambitious, more social, or more productive.
You can keep growing, but you don't have to be more of anything in order to be enough (you already are).
