She is a 2-time TEDx Speaker, bestselling author of 5 books, youth suicide prevention activist and award-winning LGBTQ+ advocate. She is also an indie film actress, host of 2 podcasts: The Pride Corner and Suicide Pages, and host of The Parent Hour with Dr. Lulu radio show.
She is a former Lt. Col. commander and medical director, US Air Force disabled veteran and certified life coach. She currently works with parents of LGBTQ+ children and speaks publicly on parenting and mental wellness. She has appeared on local, national and international television, been featured in multiple magazines including My African Magazine, The Washington Post, Parents Magazine, Black Parent Magazine, Entrepreneur.com, Texas Medical Journal and BlackPast.org.
