Dr. Laurie Boge is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who trained with the military and deployed to Baghdad to the busiest combat hospital in Iraq. She was one of the only females in her residency class and her deployment, and she was awarded a Bronze Star. Since her military days, she has worked in both community and academic medicine. She has published and spoken internationally on emergency medicine and mass casualty medicine, firearm injury prevention and gender disparity in medicine. She is passionate about mentoring and sponsoring women in medicine and is the founder of Green Cloud Apparel, a female-forward luxury medical clothing company that has redesigned scrubs to be sophisticated, chic, and tailored with a woman in mind. As the CEO, she worked to source material from all over the world until she found the softest material that felt and looked like silk but was machine washable and anti-wrinkle. She manufactures her clothing in the US, and intentionally works with other women to highlight her company as a female-centric business. Her goal is that when “women put these on, they smile bigger, stand taller and instantly become more confident . . . and that is exactly what we need in medicine.”
